Like a lot of people, one of the items I had on my bucket list was to go on a Safari. We spent 3 days at the Impodimo Safari Lodge on the Madikwe game reserve in South Africa, close to the border with Botswana. If you are considering going on a safari, I would very highly recommend this lodge.
If going on a safari isn’t something on your bucket list, maybe these photos will inspire you!

As someone who loves big cats, I was delighted that we were able to catch sight of these cheetahs on the final game drive before we left the park.

The best part about going on a safari was being able to see interactions between animals that you would not be able to see in a zoo. Soon after this photo was taken, we saw a stand off between these young bull elephants and an elephant herd.

Rhinos look big and clumsy, but they move surprisingly quickly.

Being within 10 feet of a lion without a barrier between us is a pretty surreal experience. It was cooler when the lionesses started stalking wildebeest using our jeep as cover.

It is also worth timing your trip in time to see the baby animals.

I came for the animals, but the sunsets were pretty spectacular too.
